March 2026, nudge has launched numa, an intelligence layer powering personalization across its global financial health platform, helping employees move from understanding their finances to taking action.
numa builds on nudge’s AI money coach, originally introduced to give employees an immediate, conversational way to ask questions about their money.
Now, that intelligence is becoming part of the wider nudge experience.
Rather than only responding when an employee asks a question, numa works across the platform to help nudge understand each employee and determine what could be most relevant to them next.
It powers personalized action plans, helps identify opportunities for timely nudges and recommendations, and supports the interpretation of an employee’s financial health. And when someone has an in-the-moment money question, they can still talk directly to numa for instant, impartial financial education.
The original AI money coach gave employees a trusted place to ask financial questions when they needed support.
numa expands that role.
Instead of being a single feature within nudge, numa becomes the intelligence connecting experiences across the platform. Robyn Hyde, Chief Product Officer at nudge, said:
“The AI money coach showed the potential of trusted, impartial support in the moments that matter. With numa, we’re going further. It’s the intelligence powering personalized action plans, timely nudges, and relevant support across nudge, making financial health more personal and proactive at global scale.”
An employee’s action plan, for example, isn't simply generated from a standard template. numa uses their financial health scores, goals, and what nudge already knows about them to help shape relevant next steps.
Proactive nudges respond to an employee’s circumstances and identifies when something specific may need their attention.
The financial health checkup gives numa another signal to understand where an employee may need support and inform what happens next.
And the AI money coach remains the place where employees talk directly to numa whenever a question arises.
The development represents an important evolution in what personalization means within nudge.
Rather than simply tailoring the financial education an employee sees, numa connects different signals across their nudge experience to determine what could be relevant next.
That might mean helping someone understand a gap highlighted by their financial health checkup, building that priority into their action plan, surfacing an appropriate workplace benefit, or prompting them when there is a relevant next step to consider.
When an employee wants to explore something directly, they can ask numa about their money and benefits. Responses are grounded in nudge’s impartial, validated financial education, while benefits information can be incorporated to make the experience more relevant to what employees actually have available to them.
As numa takes a bigger role across the platform, how that intelligence is governed becomes increasingly important.
nudge has achieved ISO/IEC 42001 certification for its Artificial Intelligence Management System, alongside its existing ISO/IEC 27001 information security certification.
The governance framework covers areas including AI-specific risk and impact assessments, supplier oversight, monitoring, incident management, and human oversight; providing enterprise clients with independently assessed evidence of how nudge manages AI in practice.
numa is also built around nudge’s long-standing commitment to impartiality. It aligns with nudge's financial education ethos to educate and empower, never prescribe; helping employees understand their options without recommending financial products or telling them what financial decision to make.
numa isn't replacing human expertise. It's there to make that expertise more personal, accessible, and scalable.
By combining intelligent technology with financial expertise and behavioral science, nudge can create an experience that better understands an employee’s financial reality and helps identify what could matter next.
That means numa can work in the background to make an employee’s nudge experience more relevant, while also being available directly whenever they want to have a conversation.
The evolution creates the foundation for nudge to continue developing AI-powered capabilities without turning each one into a separate tool or feature.
Action plans powered by numa. Timely nudges powered by numa. Financial health understood by numa. And when an employee has a question, numa is there to talk to.
