September 2026, nudge has introduced a personalized financial action plan for every employee, evolving its global financial health platform from helping people understand their finances to helping them identify and take relevant actions to improve their financial health.

The new experience brings together an employee’s financial health, goals, life stage, workplace benefits, and interactions with nudge to create a living financial action plan shaped around their individual circumstances.

Powered by numa, nudge’s AI, the action plan prioritizes relevant next steps and evolves as an employee’s circumstances, priorities, and progress change.

It marks an important evolution for nudge: from personalized financial education to personalized financial action. Robyn Hyde, Chief Product Officer at nudge, said:

“Financial education gives people the knowledge to make better decisions, but the next step is helping each person understand what action to take. The financial action plan brings their goals, financial health, and benefits together in one place, with numa continually helping to identify what matters next. It’s about turning personalization into meaningful financial action.”

A financial action plan built around the individual

Rather than presenting employees with a generic checklist, each financial action plan is shaped around the individual. It draws on their financial health score, profile information, goals, and activity across nudge to build a clearer picture of where they are and what could matter next.

That might mean building an emergency fund, reviewing retirement readiness, making better use of an employer benefit, or preparing financially for a major life event.

As employees take action or their circumstances change, their plan adapts with them, helping them understand what to focus on next.

Powered by numa

At the center of the experience is numa, the intelligence powering personalization across the nudge financial health platform.

numa brings together different signals to shape and continually reprioritize an employee’s financial action plan.

These can include employer, benefits and employee information, alongside signals from an employee’s activity across nudge, their interactions with numa and, where appropriate, conversations with a financial coach.

The result is a more connected and personalized financial health experience, where different parts of nudge can contribute to understanding what may be relevant to an employee next.

Connecting financial health with workplace benefits

The financial action plan also connects an employee’s financial priorities with the workplace benefits available to them.

Through integrations with HR and reward systems, nudge can understand which benefits an employee has access to and surface relevant opportunities as part of their financial action plan.

So rather than workplace benefits sitting separately from someone’s wider finances, they can become part of the actions an employee is considering to improve their financial health.

For employers, that creates an opportunity to move beyond simply communicating that a benefit exists toward helping employees understand when and why it could be relevant to them.

A financial action plan that evolves from hire to retire

Financial priorities don’t stand still. Starting a first job, receiving a pay increase, saving for a home, having a child, getting married, receiving company equity, navigating market volatility, or preparing for retirement can all change what matters financially.

The financial action plan will evolve through those moments.

Instead of requiring an employee to work out where to start each time something changes, nudge can help surface relevant priorities and next steps, creating greater continuity across their financial life.

From financial education to financial action

The launch reflects a broader evolution in how nudge improves employee financial health.

Financial education remains an important foundation. But knowing more about money doesn’t automatically mean someone knows what to do next.

The personalized financial action plan helps close that gap by connecting financial understanding with relevant, achievable next steps.

It also changes the role of personalization. Rather than primarily determining which financial education an employee experiences, personalization can help shape the actions, prompts, workplace benefits, and support that may be most relevant to them.

The result is a nudge experience that doesn’t just help employees understand their finances. It helps them identify what they can do next to improve their financial health.

A living, personalized financial action plan for every person, powered by numa, helping every employee make great financial decisions, when it matters.
