The challenge

Meta already gave its people a deep and varied benefits offering. However, what employees were asking for was something more personal: support that spoke to their own financial circumstances and helped them feel in control.

Across a workforce spanning multiple markets, where financial systems, pressures, and life stages vary widely from one market to the next, that meant meeting a wide spread of needs rather than offering one generic answer. The team set out to understand exactly where the gaps were and build a program that could help close them.

The solution

Meta started with the questions that mattered most: where were the financial gaps, and who needed support most? To answer them, the team drew on nudge and its financial health checkup, a short assessment that measured each employee's financial health, to pinpoint where support was needed rather than guessing.

That insight became the basis for leaders behind the financial health program to map and align every existing benefit against real need. With that map in place, each employee's personalized financial action plan could point them to the Meta benefits most relevant to their situation, delivered as one connected experience tailored to different employee communities, not a scattered set of programs.

Trust sat at the heart of the program. Meta wanted a genuine safe space for employees to improve their financial health, and nudge's impartiality made it the natural choice. nudge sells no financial products and has no conflicts of interest, so employees could trust that every piece of impartial financial guidance was in their best interest.

With the need mapped and leaders aligned, the focus turned to reach. A benefits offering this varied could easily become noise, so Meta used nudge's financial health platform to bring every benefit into one connected experience. Each employee, whatever their career stage or location, was proactively pointed to the benefits most relevant to their situation, helping them act on support they might otherwise have missed and helping the company get more from its complete benefit offering.

The results

Employee impact
  • 90% of Meta employees took action on their financial health with nudge
  • 96% of them returned to keep improving their financial health
Employer impact
  • 69% took action during the retirement contribution window
  • 65% took action during Meta's global RSU (equity) trading window

These results show lasting financial behavior change, not a one-time action. Retirement and equity are among the most valuable benefits Meta offers, but their value depends on employees acting at the right time. By reaching employees during both retirement and equity windows, nudge helped their people make decisions that shape their long-term finances, while Meta saw a greater return on two of its most significant benefit investments.
